Lasso weds psychedelic fuzz and americana-country twang, evoking a vision of the American West wherein saloons serve it spiked and the dust devils take on infinite aspects of incredulous complexity.

Mars - The Complete Studio Recordings NYC 1977-1978
The sonic serrated edge of New York's No Wave movement. If you're not conversant with Mars don't be turned off by the "Complete Studio Recordings." It's just eleven tracks. Eleven tracks that confront, confound and challenge the concepts of both music and art.

SRC - SRC (1968)
The Scott Richard Case. One of my favorite albums of the original psychedelic era. Leaders name is Scott Richardson though. Part and parcel of the psychedelic atmosphere, I suppose.

Michael Hurley & Pals - Armchair Boogie (1971)
Eccentric (but not over the top), laid-back genius blues-folk. The whole album is aces, without a single slump in the mix. Hurley is known for his role with the Holy Modal Rounders on the classic album Have Moicy!, which is a must-have as well, but he really stands out on this album as the paragon of americana that he is. Take your Quaaludes and down a couple beers.

Sibylle Baier - Colour Green (1970-1973)
Recorded in the evenings post-work and mother-wife time on a reel-to-reel up in her attic somewhere in Germany, not released until 2006. Sibylle Baier is far and away one of the best simple acoustic folk musicians, period. Hauntingly beautiful.
